Hi!
After a whole lot of thinking and a strong desire to give up and throw my laptop out my window, I have finally decided on a plot for my next story. Ever since I posted the last chapter of Where Death Sings on Radish I've been trying to come up with a new idea for a story. For a long time my plan was to write a cute YA book taking place in high school, but realized that it wasn't for me. I definitely feel the need to write a story with a plot that allows things to happen, and where plot twists and suspense is welcomed. So instead of a cute high school story, I will write a teen/mystery book. This is something I have never done before, but I'm excited about the challenge. The book is in the very first stage of planning and outlining, and since it's a mystery book I do have to spend a little more time planning this book than I normally do, but I hope to be able to start writing at the earliest in august and hopefully have the first chapter up on Radish at the end of summer/beginning of autumn (it will also be posted on wattpad, only a couple of weeks later). I'm really excited about writing something new, and I hope you are too. For more updates on my writing follow me on twitter (@rosepetalnovels) or instagram (@kajsavalley).

Something I have realised is that writing is hard. It's hard in every aspect of it. It's hard to be ten people at the same time. It's hard to imagine what's inside a murder's head on the same time as you're trying to imagine what's inside a 18-year-old's. It's hard to get recognised for your writing. It's hard to get published. And it's even harder to be able make a living out of writing.
I'm not saying that it's impossible to do the things I mentioned above. People have succeeded. Books are being published everyday. When I started writing as a six/seven/eight-year-old, my intention was never to publish or make money off my stories. I only did it because I loved creating stories. I loved thrilling adventures. I wrote solemly because I loved it so much. Like we all have to, I grew up. I'm 20, and I still write because I think it's fun. I still love creating worlds, creatures and plots. Thanks to platforms like Wattpad and Radish, my writing has been able to reach thousands. My writer has in some way had an impact on people. This is one of the reason why I write, I want to be able to make an impact on people. Make them feel things they have never felt before. Take them on adventures they never could have dreamed of. And introduce them to all my characters. Truth be told, my dream is to publish a book. I would have loved to be able to spend everyday creating new worlds. I'm not going to deny it, the money would have been a big plus. However, I find it important that people know that I don't write for money or fame. I write because I love it, and you love it. Writing is part of who I am, and I hope that I can continue to write for the rest of my life. Whehter it's on my free time or as a full-time job, I don't really mind. Writing is part of the definition of me, and it always will be. Love, Kajsa If you follow me and my books on Wattpad you may have come across a post where I explain that I am now also on a new writing platform; Radish.
I am so excited to be a part of their writing team, and hope to be able to post a couple of stories on there in the future. At the moment, I have moved my Wattpad story Where Death Sings to Radish. It's a new version of it, so if you've read it Wattpad, I still recommend you to check out the next story since no new chapters will be posted on Wattpad. I will be using two models when posting stories on Radish: 1. Free - It's as simple as it sounds, the story is compltetely free. 2. Freemium - "Pay to read a chapter now, or wait to read it for free". Whenever a new chapter is posted it will be locked for 7 days, during which time you as a reader can spend Radish coins to unlock the chapter and read it early. Each chapter is 3 coins, which is approximately US $0,36. You absolutely do not have to pay anything if you don't want to, you just have to wait a couple of days to acess the chapter for free. The app is completely free to download, and to a beginning most my stories will be free, so you don't have to worry about paying to read anything. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Kajsa Hello.
By the title of this post, you probably already know what I am about to tell you. When I first started writing Burning Hearts, and posted the prologue, my plan was to start posting regularly during this summer. However, as the months have passed plans have changed. I have no other choice than to postpone the release until the end of October/beginning of November due to the fact that I won't be home between 27th of July and 23rd of October, and won't have access to a computer. I'm sorry about the inconvenience, but hope you can forgive me. I didn't think it was fair to give you two or three chapters and then leave you hanging for twelve weeks. If you have any further questions about this, don't hesitate to ask me. Love, Kajsa. I hope you haven't missed that I posted a new story a few weeks ago. For now I've just posted the prologue as a preview, I will start posting frequently in the summer.
The book is called Burning Heart, and at first I was planning on writing it in swedish, but then I though it would be a shame to not be able to share it with you. So, I'm at the moment trying to write ahead, so I don't have to stress. You are completely free to ask me questions about the book, my writing, or anything you want. Let me just tell you; I'm super excited about this book, and really hope that I won't let you all down. Happy Easter! "What do you love most about writing?" - The freedom. You are free to create whatever you want, whether it's a whole world or just one tiny thing or feeling. And the only limitation to your freedom is yourself. The question and answer above is from angelicharry's interview on wattpad. It consist of 20 questions from her side, and 20 answers from my side. The interview mostly revolve around my writing, writing in general, and wattpad. If you feel like you want to get to know me a bit better, I definitely recommend you to read this interview.
I would also like to thank angelicharry for interviewing me, it was a lovely first interview. I'm always open for interviews, so if you are interrested; don't be afraid to ask me. I promise, you're not bothering me, I'm happy to take some time to answer questions. Direct link to interview: HERE Have a good day! It's been almost a week since I posted the last chapter and the epilogue of Haunted, and I have received numerous of what you may call complaints. Clearly, and I'm aware of this, I didn't give you the ending you were hoping for, and that is what I'm going to talk about in this post. The ending itself was not planned from the very beginning, but was decide after around 12 chapters, and I knew right away that it would make people, not dislike the story itself, but dislike the way I decided to handle the ending. Something I never told you before I wrote the story, or even during, is that I'm not a big fan of the typical happy ending, where the boy gets the girl and they lived happily ever after. This might seem weird, who doesn't want a happy ending? But the thing is, a book should continuously surprise you throughout the book. If you can lean back and relax after 5 chapters, it's not a very good book, is it? I strive to give you stories where, no matter where you are in the book, you can at any point get surprised or shocked over something that happens. There are according to me, too many books with plain and boring endings, because that's what people want. But that's not what I want. I'm not saying that stories have to have brutals ending where the world ends, but author should strive to give the readers a different and new ending in every story. So I stand for my ending, and I wouldn't change it for anything. However, I won't stand in the way of your imagination of what happened between chapter 50 and the epilogue, and after the epilogue. That's entirely up to you. Love, Kajsa. |
